YOUR EXPERIMENT

A + B = A LITTLE SURPRISE

Try Water + Fire to make your first discovery.

Start from the beginning?

This deletes your discoveries and recipe journal on this device. It cannot be undone.

What “free” covers here.

The whole game is free: every element, every recipe, hints and the recipe journal. There is no energy meter, no paid boost, no premium recipe tier and no account wall after a few levels. Progress is saved on your device, so nothing is held hostage on a server.

Analytics is off unless you explicitly allow it, and the game plays identically either way. Our privacy page states this in plain terms.

How other free merge games make money.

“Free” usually means someone else pays. Most free merge and puzzle games run on ads, in-app purchases or both. That is a fair trade when it is disclosed—but check store listings for ad frequency and purchase prompts, especially for younger players.

A different kind of free exists in fan projects: mashup mods are often free downloads built by hobbyists, but they usually require owning the original games. Free mod, paid base game.

See source-checked mashup projects →

Free fan mashups, honestly labeled.

Pixelmon is a free download that puts Pokémon inside Minecraft—you still need a paid copy of Minecraft: Java Edition. Boll Deluxe is a free fan-made Mario × Sonic beta on itch.io. Each listing records what we checked and what we did not.

Playing online instead?

If you want the instant, in-browser angle—what kinds of merge games exist online and how they differ—our merge games online page covers that. Same free game, different guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is this merge game actually free?

Yes. There is no price, no subscription, no in-app purchase and no account. The game runs in your browser and your progress stays on your device.

What is the catch?

There is no catch to describe honestly: the game is a fixed-recipe puzzle with no premium tier and no paid hints. Optional, consent-based analytics is the only data feature, and declining it changes nothing about play.

Are game mashup mods free too?

Many fan projects are free to download, but often require you to own the original paid games—Pixelmon is free, Minecraft is not. Always check the project’s own requirements page before installing.

Why do other “free” merge games show ads or sell boosters?

Ads and in-app purchases are how most free games pay their bills. That model is legitimate, but it is worth checking a game’s store listing for ad frequency and purchase prompts before handing it to a child.

Is this game suitable for kids?

There is no chat, no multiplayer, no advertising SDK and no account system in this game, and game progress never leaves the device. The only data feature is optional analytics, which sends nothing unless a visitor explicitly allows it—our privacy page states exactly what is and is not collected.
