Melty not loading?
Find which part.
“Melty is not working” can mean the website, the download, the launcher or a single mashup. The checks differ for each, so start by naming the one that fails.
Read this first. We found no troubleshooting handbook on the Melty pages we checked, and we have not installed the launcher. Nothing below is a tested fix. Each check comes from Melty’s own site, terms or privacy policy as they stood on October 14, 2026, or from the published requirements of mashups in our index. Where we are reasoning rather than quoting, we say so.
The melty.gg website will not load
- Check the address. The launcher’s site is melty.gg. An unrelated AI code editor lives at melty.sh, and a look-alike copy of the launcher’s site exists at melty.world—see is Melty safe before using that one.
- It was up when we looked. On October 14, 2026 the home, download, terms and privacy pages all loaded normally. That is a snapshot, not a status feed.
- We found no status page. The pages we checked link to a Discord server and an X account, @meltylauncher. We have not verified whether outages are announced there.
The download will not start
- Melty’s download page says it plainly: if the download did not start, try again. The button is on melty.gg/download.
- Expect a file of about 100 MB named like
Melty-Setup-1.0.112.exe(the version served on October 14, 2026). Our download page separates the current file’s headers from the older build’s hash and scan record. An older hash cannot identify a newer build; name, size and download location alone do not establish identity or safety. - If your browser or Windows warns about the file, do not click through on reflex. Our Melty download page shows how to check the file’s signature first.
The Melty launcher will not open
- It is Windows-only. The site offers Melty as “Free for Windows.” We found no Mac, Linux or mobile version on it.
- Look in your antivirus history. If a security tool quarantined a file the app needs, that may stop it starting. Check what was flagged before deciding anything, and do not disable protection to get around it. Details and sources are on the safety page.
- Get the current build. The official download route pointed to version 1.0.112 on October 14, 2026. The terms say the app updates itself automatically, so the build you have may not be the current one. A newer installer from the official page may help with an outdated install. That is our reasoning—we have not tested it and cannot say it repairs an incomplete one.
- An account may be needed. The terms note that some features need one. If the app asks you to sign in, that is expected.
A mashup will not start
A mashup is separate software from a separate creator, layered on games you already have.
- You must own every game it uses. The terms require your own legitimate copy of each game, plus the accounts those games need, such as Steam or a Minecraft account. A missing game sends you to its store instead of starting.
- The game version can matter. Melty reads the versions of your installed games, and mashups name the ones they support. Two examples from our index: Isaac Survivors lists Vampire Survivors 1.16.107 or later, and SkyCraft’s author developed it on one specific Skyrim Special Edition runtime (1.7.104). It follows that a game update can leave a mashup broken until its creator catches up.
- Start each base game on its own once. General advice: a mashup cannot repair a game that does not launch by itself.
- Anti-cheat and online modes. The terms warn that some games’ rules, anti-cheat or online services do not allow mods. ER Mario, for instance, is offline-only with anti-cheat off, per its author.
- Minecraft sign-in. Minecraft mashups ask you to sign in with Microsoft once. Per the privacy policy that sign-in is kept on your PC and runs through Prism Launcher’s access to your Microsoft account; if you removed that access, expect to be asked again.
- Give the first start time. Isaac Survivors’ listing, for one, says the first start after installing takes a minute or two while its mod loader prepares itself.
- It may simply not work on your PC. The terms state that Melty does not promise every mashup works on every PC.
Multiplayer or an invite link will not connect
- Per the terms, players connect to the host’s PC, either directly or through the game’s own services. Melty does not run game servers.
- Melty does share the host’s address with players who join, so its own service is part of the chain too. The records do not tell us which part is at fault when a connection fails, and the terms say Melty does not promise every multiplayer game will connect.
- Only multiplayer mashups have invite links at all.
Where to get help
- Melty’s Discord, linked from its site.
- The mashup’s own page, where anyone can report it. According to the terms, when an install or launch fails, Melty already records that with short error details, your game version and log excerpts. The current privacy policy says identifying information and secrets are removed before logs are uploaded, creators and their coding agents can see them without your identity, and logs are kept for 30 days.
- For mashups with public source, the creator’s repository. Our mashup index links each original source.
What we have not tested
We have not installed Melty or run a mashup, so we cannot tell you which check resolves which error message. If the launcher shows a specific error, that text is worth more than this page—take it to the Discord.
Frequently asked questions
Why is Melty not loading?
“Melty” can mean four things: the melty.gg website, the installer download, the launcher app, or one mashup inside it. Each fails for different reasons. The launcher runs on Windows only, a mashup needs the exact games (and often the exact game versions) it lists, and Melty’s terms make no promise that every mashup works on every PC.
Is melty.gg down?
We cannot tell you live. When we checked on October 14, 2026 its home, download, terms and privacy pages all loaded normally. We found no status page linked from it; the site links to a Discord server and an X account.
Does Melty work on Mac, Linux or phones?
The official site offers it as “Free for Windows” and its download page serves a Windows installer. We found no other version there.
Why does a Melty mashup not start when the launcher works?
Start with requirements: Melty’s terms require your own copy of every game the mashup uses, and some mashups name a specific game version. Melty reads your game versions for this reason. Games with anti-cheat or online services may not allow modded play at all.
Should I turn off my antivirus to make Melty load?
No. If a security tool removed part of the app, find out what it flagged and why before restoring anything. Our safety page lists what is publicly known about scans of Melty.
Where do I get help with Melty?
Melty’s site links its Discord server and X account. You can also report a broken mashup from its own page; install failures are already sent to the mashup’s creator automatically, according to Melty’s terms.
