Melty download:
the real file.

Three questions arrive together: where to download Melty, whether it is on GitHub, and where the merged games themselves come from. Here is each answer, checked against the source.

Short answer. The only official download is melty.gg/download. It is a free Windows installer. Melty has no official GitHub that we could find. The mashups are installed through the launcher or fetched from their creators’ own pages. We host no files, and we have not installed Melty ourselves.

The current official Melty download

On October 14, 2026, the official download route pointed to a cloud storage file named Melty-Setup-1.0.112.exe, 103,894,160 bytes (about 104 MB). We read the response headers with a one-byte range request and cancelled the body without reading it. We did not download or run the installer, or verify this version’s signature or antivirus results. Visit the official page for the latest release; versions change.

The older file record below is retained for comparison. Its signature, hash and scan results apply only to version 1.0.94, not to the current download.

We read these details from the download server’s response headers and from VirusTotal’s public record of the file. We did not download or run it.

How to check the file you downloaded

  1. Right-click the installer, choose Properties, and open the Digital Signatures tab. Select the signature and choose Details. If no signature is shown or Windows cannot validate it, stop and investigate before running the file. Our signer and date above describe version 1.0.94 only; a signature check by itself does not establish that you have that exact file.
  2. For an exact match, open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run Get-FileHash .\Melty-Setup-1.0.94.exe -Algorithm SHA256, using your file’s real name. The hash will only equal ours if you have the same version.
  3. Have a newer version? Paste your own hash into VirusTotal’s search box to see its record for that build.

A matching SHA-256 means you have the exact file we recorded. For any other version these steps only show its signature and its scan record; they do not by themselves prove who published it, and they do not tell you whether to trust Melty. That question is on the safety page.

Is there a Melty GitHub?

Not an official one for the launcher, as far as we can find. Three different things turn up under “Melty GitHub”:

If you want to build mashups yourself rather than install Melty, the open-source universal-modder toolkit is covered in our game-mashing guide.

Where AI merged games are downloaded from

There is no single download for “AI merged games.” Each mashup comes from its creator, by one of three routes:

Melty’s terms require your own legitimate copy of every game a mashup uses, and the GitHub projects above state their own requirements. Read each project’s page; a few standalone releases in our index need no base game. We link to original sources and never host or redistribute game files.

Installing it, per Melty

  1. Open Melty Setup from your Downloads folder. The official page says it installs in a few seconds and opens Melty on its own.
  2. Pick a mashup. Mashups use games you already own.
  3. Press Play. Melty sets up what the mashup needs and starts it.

Before step one, it is worth reading what the app is allowed to do on your PC. If something stalls, see Melty not loading.

Removing it

Melty’s FAQ says uninstalling a mashup puts every file back as it was, and its terms say the app keeps a copy of any game file it replaces for that purpose. We have not tested this. The terms also recommend keeping backups of saves you care about.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the official Melty download?

On melty.gg/download. On October 14, 2026 its download route pointed to Melty-Setup-1.0.112.exe (103,894,160 bytes). We checked response headers without downloading or running the file; we did not verify this build’s signature or antivirus results. We do not host or mirror it.

Is there a Melty GitHub?

We found no official GitHub repository for the Melty launcher, and melty.gg links to none. GitHub does hold source code for some individual mashups, published by their creators, and one organisation that uses Melty’s name while pointing to a different website.

Where can I download AI merged games?

From their creators, not from us. Mashups on Melty are installed through the launcher’s Play button. Others are published on their creators’ own GitHub pages; our index links each original source. Melty’s terms require your own copies of the games a mashup uses. Other projects have their own requirements, listed on each project’s page.

Is Melty free to download?

Yes, according to Melty: its site says Melty and its mashups are free, and its terms say all mashups are currently free. The games a mashup runs on are not included.

Is there a Melty download for Mac, Linux or mobile?

Not on the official site. It offers Melty as “Free for Windows” and serves a Windows installer.

Can I download Melty from melty.world?

That site is not linked from the official pages we checked. Our October 12 records describe a different, unsigned file; by October 14 its download had changed again. We have not analysed that new file. Use melty.gg/download.
